The Misfit Mamas Special Needs Program
Here at The Misfit Mamas Inc., we believe that every family should have the ability to easily find connection and genuine friendships. Our Special Needs Program is designed specifically for with those with various special needs and disabilities in mind. Our Special Needs Director and her team work hard to provide a variety of accommodations available to our regular meet ups and events, while also planning specific meet-ups and workshop opportunities just for our families with special needs to have fun while finding connection.

Having children with special needs can be its own challenge. But finding people who understand it, can be even harder. The Misfit Mamas Inc. is dedicated to making finding connection, support, and genuine friendships easier for our families facing special needs, no matter what those needs may be.

We bring a ton of fun for families of all types! Our team is excited to provide meet-up and play date opportunities for our families with kiddos with various levels and types of special needs to come out and find connection and friendships!

Q- Are siblings welcome?
A- Yes siblings are always welcome to join in.
Q- Do my child need to have a formal diagnosis?
A- No, a formal diagnosis is not needed. But your child does need to have a special need.
Q- What do you consider special needs to be?
A- Special needs for us are all children who are unable to be successful at attending a regular meet up. This would include all physical disabilities and well as any sensory difficulties and developmental delays.
Q- How do I connect with the volunteer to be sure this is an activity is something my child can participate in?A- You are able to reach out to the email (insert email here) and the directors will reach back out to you about your concerns.
Q- Are all the meet ups handicap accessible?
A- We make sure that we plan these events at handicap accessible locations.

Q- Can fathers or partners come to these events?
A- Yes, they are welcome to join you or bring your child without you present.

Q- How are the volunteers chosen for special needs events?
A- We screen out volunteers to be sure that they are a good fit for these events. Most have a background in working with special needs children.

Our Special Needs Department is made possible thanks to the help of certified professionals, and parents who volunteer their time to bring more opportunities for our families navigating various special needs to find both in-person and virtual opportunities to find connection and support.
